Address Collectors / Time Wasters

Recommended Posts

Hello Lyla Community!

I am not on the SP approved forum yet as they have specific guidelines that I have not yet met (I don't know any other SP's here, EC isn't for me, and not quite at the post limit yet... soon!) so please forgive me if this isn't really in the right area but it's the only area I can post...for now. SP's feel free to message me.

However, ladies, in your experience, besides excluding the men who use texting apps how can you figure out the men who waste your time or are just address collectors? Or is it bound to happen in this industry? I want to feel like I did my part, I communicated with a potential client via text and call, it was not a texting app. The gentleman was 5"5 - I provided my photos, I am a curvy short girl at 5"3 I provide realistic photos. Not a problem. We agreed to meet at my incall location - everything was fine. I opened the door and he had the weirdest eye contact, he wouldn't even look me in the eye, he was shorter than 5"5 as well (more like my height), said I wasn't his type and ran off without offering cancellation fee. I am a very even tempered person, I just let him leave without making a scene (not my style) but asked him what the issue was via text. He said everything was accurate except for my height, that I looked taller than 5"3 and I was extorting him. Uh, my driver's license and recent health check says I am 5"3. That is beyond the point. Is this an example of someone who just collected my buzz code, apartment number and address? How concerned should I be? Has this happened to anyone else? I have been escorting since February and this has only happened one other time. But this time it was very strange! He ran off like a rabbit hopping down the hallway.

It wasn't you babe. Not in the least. There are guys out there, who will play that game just to have some info to share with others, you know, giving back lol. It's a way to get all your personal information. They never intended to actually have an appt at all. They are scary little shits who will compile and share any personal info they have on you. They and their little friends will play this game until they have enough info on you ... and I don't what that is or what they will do with it.

Happens. I have watched many guys, usually hobbyist related to boards, get my info, stand and look for my name in the lobby...and take off.

I have had them later threaten me with "I know where you live and I know your name" when I didn't answer their texts requesting a visit, you know, at night, all night, when I was sleeping.

You have to learn who is capable of this and to screen them out. I have my methods. You have to develop yours. It's just the way it is. Consider it an initiation by the board dwellers into the world of "the hobby". It's like the name says...A hobby for them! They have the time and the will to contribute to it in ways you cannot have imagined.

Sorry I couldn't be more help

I am fairly new on here and am only just beginning to learn and pick up on some of these issues. I honestly don't know exactly what an "address collector" is. It doesn't sound good in any case. After I read the OP it reminded me of an experience I had years ago. I had an appointment with an SP and when I arrived everything was fine. It was a very clean, very new well set up incall location. I was invited in though the lobby, lounge and eventually to the "inner chambers". Once I got there something just wasn't right. The SP was not exactly what I was expecting although she was quite nice but ultimately not the issue. Anyway, I apologized and got up to leave. She was visibly miffed and said so. I again apologized further and offered to pay her for the inconvenience, which I did. At that point it was all me. It had nothing to do with her. I just wasn't in the right mind set and didn't feel comfortable. I was younger and more unsure of what I was doing. A few years have gone by now and I am more confident and able to make choices without any doubts.

My experience is just one scenario. I'm sure there are others that are more nefarious. I guess we all have to take care and develope ways to protect ourselves from those that would see others harmed for their own gains.

I hope this perspective helps.

Cheers

James

Thank you for your input James. You did the right thing by offering to pay for her inconvenience / time / cancellation. I think the problem was the man I was referring to did not even offer to pay and was dishonest. He later contacted me, apologized and admitted he was in the wrong but still did not offer to pay - I do not think he is completely comfortable in this hobby and is not ready to fully participate, I just wish I wasn't his practice piece as I am very low volume by choice (2-3 clients... a WEEK) - so when that happens it does miff me.

That sucks. I have had a few like that. Best to just ignore future contact.

Time wasters are always going to happen. But address collectors, you need to have a two step process at the very least. One step gets them to your chosen location parking lot, then they call and get the full address/apartment/buzz number etc.

I am in a house so they get a parking lot but for a building or complex, I would give the address but hold back the apartment or buzz number.

I would of course have a spot whereby you can see the client when they contact you. Some will say they are there when they are not. That is a clear address collector. When you know they are not actually there though, it is easier to tell them to fuck off.

I'm not sure what's to gain by collecting adresses. For "time wasters", I get it. Someone can collect information and be on the fence about taking the next step. But going as far as getting the address without doing anything with it is just nonsensical. Even if the purpose was some form of blackmail or personal vendetta I'm not sure how this could be used without backfiring horribly. I suppose it's better to not try to understand the incomprehensible.

Hello :) this is interesting. I get the feeling something else spooked him. He seems a little jiggy naturally, and I dont think he was collecting the address as most address collectors usually ask for your address and not show. Which ks why I always give an approximate address first and when I see they are there then i give them 1 more and then 1 more. Because The creep factor definitely goes up when you give an address and they dont show. I learned that lesson long ago. I hope he does come back and make things right with you. Maybe he just needs to get over his pre hobbying jitters. Who knlws mayne he is married too and all of a sudden got some anxiety and started feeling guilty.

As for time wasters i have ignored many texts that just say "hey, hi, hello, whats up, hey baby, hey sexy, or available?" Serious guys will always make a brief intro, let you know they have an interest in seeing you and will ask your availability. Tire kickers are one word txts at a time. They also ask question after question. If someone is serious they try and get all of their questions out of the way quickly not over a period of 1 to several hours.

Hope this helps:)
