Thanks for clarifying the minimum post requirement. I didn't realize it, but the logic makes sense.

I will let one of my clients know, who has said he would post a recommendation but said he couldn't figure out how. I believe he uses CERB more to read ladies' profiles than to post. When I see him next, I'll encourage him to respond to a few posts.

Hi Phil, New members can not post recommendations right away.

New members must get past the moderation period first (5 posts and 5 days) meaning you must post at least 5 posts and you must be a member for at least 6 days before your account will move to a non-moderated account.

Is this new? Only recently I saw a recommendation from a person who had no previous post?

Yes, it's a new thing. We have had a LARGE increase in new members trying to SHILL post recommendations (Mostly asian ads that are known bait and switchers) so I just made a minimum to post a rec... that stops the lame shill accounts and also gives some credibility to those who make it to 5+ posts and 5+ days. I may make a page that explains the moderation period more clearly and set it so that all new members are asked to read the page. I just don't have time right now to set that all up

I think it's a great idea! Afterall the board out west (PERB - which was the best acronym as everyone called themselves Perberts LOL) was full of shills and people trying to blackball and ruin each other.

Even on a friendly, respectful board like Cerb there are bound to be a few who try to pull antics. We're lucky to have such a good Mod!

Do you mean recommendations? If so I do not see any under the name "Fine wine Diva" are you sure they were placed in the recommendations area buy the guys or where they just posted in the discussion threads?

This is where they need to be in order to be considered a recommendation here that is search-able by your name

http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=125

Second, if you did have TWO made they would have been merged together as we only allow one recommendation thread per lady.

I suspect someone posted a nice comment about you but did not post it in the recommendation area. You could always contact them and ask them to post the recommendation in this area http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=125

We only remove the recommendations when the ladies retire or are no longer available in a particular city.

I believe that when you are still on probation there is an asterisk next to your user name when you make a post. I believe that might be what he was referring to, questioning why he was still a moderated account? Since he is listed as a standard member now I'm guessing it's no longer an issue.

geez mod, don`t make me sound like an idiot. at most areas of the site where my name appears it is accompanied by an asterisk. i was simply asking why this is the case as i am no longer a moderated member.

... at most areas of the site where my name appears it is accompanied by an asterisk...

PS, if you give mod a specific example of exactly where this occurs, I'm sure it will help him out in finding the answer to your question.

Ok..

I think the big problem here is you "ASSUMED" the that asterisk meant you were moderated (DON'T ASSUME THINGS)...

still not sure where you see this but I am guessing on the Currently Active Users list and the Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread are at the bottom of the pages. If I am correct the asterisk you see means you have chosen to make yourself invisible (in your UserCP area) so others can not see your actives.

As the moderator I don't see this askterisk as I see everyone (invisible or not) but if your seeing you own name in these area's with an asterisk that would be the reason.

You can turn this on and off in the UserCP area and it has nothing to do with being moderated or not.

Moderated accounts say "New Member - Moderated Account" and accounts out of the moderation period say "General Member" or they may be promoted to "Elite Member" or "Service Provider" etc...

When you ask me a question (or anyone a question for that matter) put yourself in the shoes of the other person for a moment and re-read your question. Say to yourself "If I was answering this question would I have any idea what was being asked". In this case I think you assumed something that was not true and you convinced yourself that it has something to do with being moderated and therefore I would understand what you were asking...

Some people have a very hard time explaining questions and many do not bother to re-read what they are asking before hitting the POST or SEND button (You should see some of the scatter brain gibberish people send me trying to ask me a question). I don't want to be rude or ignore people but sometimes I have no choice.

Maybe asking something like ...

Why does my name have an asterisk beside it in the "Currently active users viewing this thread" section at the bottom of the pages?"

At least I would know where you are seeing this asterisk.

Hi Betti, the recommendations are for the guys to post about the ladies. What kind of recommendation were you wishing to post?

You may be doing more harm than good for the lady. I say this as you are obviously a lady as well and some of the guys may see this as a shill. If you have hired a SP and wish to write a review about her services you can but please be sure to word the review so that everyone knows you are not a service provider yourself as it would be seen as a SHILL post. Usually the recommendations are from guys so this would be a little odd.

Mod.. I have been reviewed by women on another board (which shall remain nameless :) and by couples.. I think she'll make it clear. She does say hobbyiest in her profile although most guys wouldn't see that. Welcome newbies! now get a postin!

I have to say, that this seems a less than welcoming response to women who enjoy the company of a skilled escort. To automatically think any woman posting is a shill...And that posting a recommendation as a woman is 'odd' implies that my being here is equally as odd...

I had just wanted to post something nice about a SP from the perspective of a lady and a couple. Perhaps you can direct me to somewhere more appropriate to do so...
