In most cases, the word "coloured" is really considered to be racist. It's a word that's considered to be politically in correct. I guess it depends on the individual. When I read this it reminded me of my grandmother. She used this word a lot. She knew not to use it in mixed company but that was her habit and during her time this word wasn't considered to be offensive. Habit I guess.
