I suspect that many of us hobbiest are also involved with significant others in some way so we have do be careful not to let significant others know about our hobby.

Whats your biggest blunder vis a vis nearly getting caught.

I've had the odd little blunder like nearly getting caught reading cerb pages when my wife walks into my home office, or leaving my personal email account on when I went to work (its only a little blunder because my wife doesn't use my computer, and the email account times out after a while, otherwise it could have been a big blunder otherwise).

My biggest one happened near the beginning of my engagement in this hobby.

I had a piece of paper on which I wrote down the agency's number, the name of the agency person I was talking to, the time frame (2 to 3 pm) the name of the girl I was going to visit, instructions on how to get there, the the access code and the room number. I put the sheet of paper in the breast pocket of my shirt when I arrived at the destination. About a week later I was thinking about what I did with that sheet of paper and couldn't remember. I checked the car, no sign of it, my wallet, not there, my desk, not there. Then I remember my shirt and realized I had left it in my shirt pocket when I put the shirt into the laundry. I dug through the dirty laundry, the shirt wasn't there. I rushed down stairs and into the laundry room. I looked around, checked the garbage. No sign of that paper. I found the shirt, in the dryer, the paper was still in the shirt pocket -- illegable by that point.

Lesson learned, I write down as little information as possible, make sure I destroy any info., clear my browser history, program numbers into my cell phone, then delete them after without ever writing them down, check my pockets... I also lately have made arrangement from the office (via smart phone -- getting the smart phone was actually my wifes idea, :-)) instead of home which reduces the changes of discovery as well, but she has no access to the smart phone acccount...

... and I probably should do my own laundry.

Talking in my sleep. Dang, I say way to much while in a relaxed state. Thank goodness I can claim it was just a dream.

Must admit though that the other morning the wood was on and I was rather enjoying the dreamy moment with a fave of mine - very close to a wet dream - but the damn phone rang. unboing :-|

I'm usually very good in making sure all the loose ends are cleared up. Phone numbers deleted from cell phone, texts deleted, separate email account that the SO does not know about which is solely used for hobby purposes, etc.

When I do need to write something down it is done if a vague way, always mixed up with my regular work notes. Luckily, my work involves lots of calculations which makes hidding numbers pretty easy. And I always get rid of the piece of paper either right before the appointment or soon afterwards.

The one time I didn't follow my standard operating procedure. I left a small piece of paper with a name and phone number in the middle console in my car, right beside the sunglass case of the SO. I usually try to met sp's in central located locations where I can either walk and/or use public transit so having the car was different. Granted the piece of paper wasn't on it's own enough to sink my battleship but it definitely could have put me in a bad situation if I didn't react well. Luckily, for me the piece of paper rested beside the glass case until I used the car a week later and discovered it while looking for coffee change.

Lesson learned.

Hurt someone's feelings by accident....thought I was making a joke and being clever but the damage was done and she thought I was a dick, there was no way back. That was a blunder :(

Peace

Had another blunder yesterday. I was reading CERB, my wife came into the room where my home office is located and stood by my chair asking me about buying tiles for the bathroom -- a topic I find infinitely fascinating, not.

She very rarely does this. I had instantly minimized the Cerb window no problem and switched to my work email which has virtually nothing incriminating on it except for the occassional correspondence with a certain Miss L., a friend (just friends); all the posts on the screen at that moment were work related (to my relief). No need to panic.

But to my horror, on the bottom on the screen on the Task bar was visible "CERB -- Canadian Escort". Normally when you are reading or writing a thread it says the name of the thread. For example, right now the task bar for this thread says "Biggest Blunder - CERB"), but not that time. It might be a difference between quotes and quick reply with the quick reply being more discrete.... I think. Fortunately my wife didn't have her reading glasses on so I don't think she would have been able to read it, however I'm not sure how bad her eyes are. I'm not sure if they are as bad as mine for near objects (the joys of aging). She did look at the screen a couple times, but didn't seem to notice the incriminating words on the task bar. Maybe she doesn't care. Anyway, I've now changed the properties of the task bar to autohide the task bar.

I seem to be getting rather lax in my security precautions lately. Maybe I'm subconsciously trying to get caught.

I believe you may be breaking a cardinal rule by browsing CERB at home.

When it comes to phone numbers, I would recommend writing them backwards and then adding some

random numbers for good measure; I would recommend always dialing the seven digits from right

to left. If you are going for an incall, rainy or stormy days are better, as you

have a legitimate excuse to wear a big hood over your head; always check the Weather Network; wives' friends are everywhere; how do you explain entering an apartment building where you know nobody at 8pm and leaving at 9pm if you're recognized? Do not drive directly to incalls; park a kilometer or two away at a strip mall or on the street and walk the rest of that way; how do you explain your car seen at an apartment building parking lot? One thing you must never do is alter your at-home sex life; if you have sex daily, keep doing so; weekly, weekly; monthly, monthly; etc. If you don't have sex in your married life, and you use erection enhancers, make sure they are well-hidden away someplace super secret; how do you explain having Levitra when you never have sex with your wife? Bring a bar of the same soap you use at home to the place of encounter, and wash yourself well with it afterwards; women have a keen sense of smell, especially when it comes the the scent of another woman. Always wear protection, even during BJs; do you really want to try to explain why your wife got a STI? Ask if a scent-free encounter is available; perfumed products can be stubbornly difficult to remove entirely from your body. Ask if a SP smokes, and if so, if the place of encounter smells of smoke; I know someone who went to one place which reeked of cigarette smoke and that smell lingered in his clothes even though no cigarettes were smoked during his time there.

Excellent response. LOL.

>I believe you may be breaking a cardinal rule by browsing CERB at home.

Yep, and not only that, when she was home. Like I said, maybe I subconsciously want to be caught. But shes not home now.

Yes I figured out the take your own soap with you, idea myself. The agency had Axe body soap and my wife has a keen nose. I notice more recently they've switched to Ivory. It maybe for that reason.

If I was having sex every day with my wife, I don't think I'd bother (or have the energy for) SPs. But yes, definitely don't change things. I nearly got in trouble the day after seeing an SP (and experiencing one of the best sessions ever), my wife noticed that it took longer for me to come that day than usual (just not as needy as usual). She had already had her big O, so she was getting kind of impatient. I even thought about faking it just to get it over.

My son (an adult) has taken up smoking (outside only) but that hides is sufficient as an excuse for any smoking odors (like blaming the dog for ones own farts).

I used to worry about being seen by some wife's friends or even my wife driving by while going to the appartment, but I usually do it in Toronto these days, but I don't live in Toronto.

I was caught at work looking at "Canadian Escort", luckily my boss was an automobile fan. :icon_biggrin:

Wow!! Not a chance may I ever going to go even near CERB or even my CERB-related gmail at work. My office layout is sort of open-concept, 3-4 people can slightly turn their heads and clearly see my screen.

Well in certain cities (two to be exact) I have to be extra careful when seeing ladies. I don't see ladies out in public places. Kingston is one of those cities. Have family there, and friends of family members there. Not embarrassed or ashamed of living this lifestyle, but should I disclose it, I want to do it because I chose to, not because family/friends of family saw me, and started phoning asking who's the young lady RG is seeing? I recently saw a lady in Kingston at her hotel, and she suggested going downstairs to the hotel bar for a drink or two. I agreed but in the back of my mind I kept wondering if I would run into someone I know. Fortunately it is a very small bar, and didn't run into anyone. But I suppose it qualifies as potentially the biggest blunder I made

Quite apart from that, quite a few companies keep track of what sites their employees visit, and how often and for how long. They're allowed to, since you're using their network and probably a computer they own.

There are some things that my employer simply does not need to know :)

I used to see girls in the town I live in and stopped in part for a greater anonymity of seeing girls in Downtown Toronto (that and two escort agencies in town closed which made local girl less available). There are two persons who work in downtown TO that I need to avoid, but so far, so good.

Additional Comments:

Yeah at my office, I can't deleted my browser activity. I do my cerbing on my smart phone.

You can't delete browser history on a smart phone? So glad I went the iPhone route. Btw, nntsci, your posts of late are quite entertaining and have become a must read :)

Sorry, to clarify, I use the smart phone at work, because I can't delete my browser history on my computer at work, sorry for the confusion. Although we are not scrutinized that closely, I really don't want my employer looking at my internet activity. Yes I can delete my browser history on the cell phone (and the phone log, and the text message log, etc..).

Thanks for the comments. I've been having fun on the sight. Its a great place to discuss some of the difficulties of life. Very interesting conversations.

Indeed, I can say that too. If I'm browsing somewhere I shouldn't be; IT will alert my supervisor.

I have no issue with this, it's corporate property, this has been made quite clear when I started.

Yes there is software that will log your keystrokes. If its your employer doing it, you wouldn't be able to disable it without admin privledges. At home make yourself the only administrator and run anti-spyware software, but that would only be able to defeat some of the less sophisticated programs.

The way I do it is to make it look like I'm doing math calculations and put a 1 in front of the first 3 digits and do the calculation anyway ex. if her phone # is 234-5678 I simply add 1234+5678=6912 the answer I put here is her address(my wife never checks my answer).

I sometime will put a similar guy name on the piece of paper ex. Emma Alexandra I will put Alex.

My biggest vulnerability is generating the folding cash necessary for the hobby.

I do have a prepaid credit card that does not generate a listing of use that anyone else can get a hold of but not many ladies take cards and transferring the cash is also an issue as all other bank accounts are joint.

What I do is anytime I get an extra payment (i.e. company expense cheque etc) I get folding cash for it. No record of it so my SO soon forgets about it and never asks where that money went. Also I tend to use a lot of cash anyway (to cover my tracks) so generating another few hundred is not too much of an issue.

I accidentally hit upon an interesting means of getting cash for hobbies. I set up a tax free saving account, but the bank blundered. They were supposed to take 40 per month from the chequing and put it in a mutual fund, but instead, they took 80 and put only 40 in the mutal fund, and the other 40 into just a saving account. My wife by now is used to the 80 going out each month as savings and is even thinking of setting up her of TFSA. Well, a couple months ago I cashed in the savings part of the TFSA and put in into another saving account that she doesn't know about. Thankyou BMO for that error; too bad it was only 40 per month.

As a married SP (for 30+ years), all I ever asked of my husband is that he do like my clients do and try to protect me from any knowledge of his involvement with other women.

But it seems that's quite difficult! Maybe I need to rethink. I know many men need variety to keep their interests fresh. I am not one to look to hard or question too hard, but maybe I'm being unreasonable in not wanting to know. He's a really good husband, and a great sex partner. Maybe I should just be happy at that. After all, it's not like he doesn't know about my other involvements, pleasurable as they may be.

Thats sounds reasonable and fair.

... perhaps. Did I mention the time that a friend of mine who had the hots for him came over, drank a bunch of my booze, puked in a sink full of dishes, then went off upstairs to play with him, leaving me to clean up?

I'm torn. ;)

Booked an appointment, the address seemed vaguely familiar. Turned out to be a high rise condominium built above the office where my spouse worked. Different entrance and street number, but the same building.

Wasn't caught, but I actually did tell the lady that I wouldn't be able to book again and why!!! Very nerve wracking going in and out.

Thats hilarious. The closest I came was when the apartment the lady was in was on the route between my home and where my wife worked. I was always a bit nervous parking in the lot across the road, or walking across the road on route to the lady's apartment. I can understand why you choose not to return.
