Hi, wondering if I have been compromised.

I contacted a person on CL (I know, my bad) via email to inquire about rates, etc, and after some email correspondence, I had asked for a picture and the person said that they would send it to my phone.

Stupidly, I gave them my cell number and they sent a picture.

Following that, I replied to set an appointment and then radio silence. I went back to the CL ad and the ad was pulled.

Am I compromised?

Another reason to not trust CL.

No idea what their intent was. But the more time between you an in the incident I would say the greater chance you are going to me ok.

Having said this I recently learned the hard way as well that its a burner phone or nothing in this hobby.

Highly recommend a burner phone!

They have your cell number and nothing more? Can't see what trouble that would be. Do they have your real name?

I wouldn't worry too much.

I use one of the many apps for texting with a real number on my phone. They are free and easy. I know many providers say "no texting apps" but they don't have a way to know and I think what they are really saying is "don't be a jerk, text me if you want service, not to chat"
