MILF or NOT?

Recommended Posts

Guest ATasteOfEve

Just looking for feedback on this one....I've seen ladies in their early 30s calling themselves MILFs. What is the acceptable age on this one? Personally, I'm a GILF. I never really considered myself a MILF until I reached my 40s since that seemed to be how old the gals looked in all the MILF porn I saw (albeit limited) and I actually felt I owned the title by that time.

Perhaps women are having kids younger nowadays and the age cut off has changed?

Looking forward to your feedback on this one, both men(Because we all know it's every boy's fantasy) and the mature ladies out there.

Eve xx

I always thought a MILF was a woman who's kids were older then 18 and that her kids friends thought she was good looking to _uck. When my son was 14 and he was in a soccer team his friends told him that his mom was a MILF. I find kids that age to be a bit young to call each others mom a MILF.

So for me if your kids are 18 or over you can be a MILF.

But if they just have to be a mother, then isn't motherhood being put down because then the expectation is that as soon as woman has a baby, she is no longer desirable. Also that motherhood is something bad and demeaning so that being called a MIL* is supposed to be a compliment.

A woman can become a mother at 18. So I don't think the original meaning was meant for young mothers. The original meaning was to make others aware that even though she is a mother that you would think would be 'done' you are surprised that she still has it going on. So usually a mother of older kids (like teenagers and of course adults) who was still desirable, was a surprise by just making men imagine wanting to be with her. MHO

I never thought the term MILF was a bad thing... in fact I find lots of mature women to be extremely desirable... lol in fact if i had to bet I would say that the lot of ladies I have met over the years in this industry were mothers and amazing MILFS some were young ie 20's some were 30's and some were older.

When the woman has a kid thats old enough for his (her) friends to exclaim: Mother, I'd Like to F***. Since my kid is old enough for this, and I have the looks, I consider myself as a MIL*.

I am 34.

And I think it's to each their own to consider this as an insult, but I just think it adds kinkyness and sexyness.

The actual definition of it is rather degrading in that it means a woman who has children that someone considers to be physically attractive enough to have sex with. The reference being that it is an older woman which of course changes as time goes along. When this term first came out, it was probably referring to someone in their 30's (which was considered older) and now, with the change, I would say it's someone at least 40+, potentially into.

I have never seen a discussion on the age of the children impacting the term at all. It was always more of an "older woman" term. Nowadays, older woman and much younger in appearance and state of mind so it's more difficult to determine. It's one of those 'I know it when I see it" terms almost.

That's what I always understand. But I am amazed to find lately that it is referring to women younger like over 30.

My personal opinion is a milf is 35 or over. Nothing wrong with being a young mother but I have seen girls 16-24 call them selves a milf and I personally do not classify that as a milf. lol

Some one says MILF I get an instant picture in my head...... GILF is more confusing to me. I know a few and they don't look anything like my grandma did or maybe I was just to young to notice.

A friend referred to cougar's the other day as in it's a cougar bar. I smiled and said at our age a cougar would be some one in her 70's. Freaked him about a bit :)

Peace

It's funny...I never heard that term until I started doing webcam...yes I was called a Milf and sometimes a Gilf (but not a grandma yet lol)

At first I was insulted until I was told it was a compliment..Now I don't take it the bad way...I smile and say thank you :)

As for the age...hmmm I would think also that it's refers to an older mom...what age is that? I don't really know but I know for sure that I'm in that category hehe

P.S. great topic Eve :)

I've always thought it a degrading and mysogynystic term. It means someome old enough to have kids who is still worth effing. (With the implication that most have lost that value)

Eff that sort of language and eff the guys who think it's either fun or funny.

Damn but I hate that. And no, that's not political correctness. It's a soul deep disgust for terminology that reduces people to objects.

I am sure some people use it in a negative way but I have seen many ladies use it in ads and I have used it in conversations with wonderful ladies I have met who I think very highly of and consider amazing people and my friends.

I think it's important to take words that some might use negatively and take their power away by using them in ways that eliminate their negativity.... Mothers are sexy and desirable so of course they are attractive to the other sex...

It's all bout how people use the words...

Just My Opinion

Here is below a link to a post I wrote on my blog about the term "MILF". You will have both the result of a research I did about it, and my point of view about the use of this term. My post is called "Don't call me a MILF or I'll call you a TIDWF, you twit!":

Thanks Mia I enjoyed reading your blog and getting to understand your view on the term.

I would like to think that we can think sexually about a person man or woman and appreciate some aspect of the appearance or personality or who they are without thinking that is is all there is too them... no one is just on dimensional and we are all very complex... this industry is about sex so of course there is a focus on the person's sexuality that focus is not created just by the client it is also put forward by the providers... many create their work persona that focuses on sexuality.

I appreciate knowing how you and others feel about the term and would encourage other ladies to share their opinion as it is only through open dialogue that we will come to understand people's opinions. I learned here earlier this year that many ladies disliked the term "hobby" as it relates to the sex work industry so now I no longer use the term even though I did not think most men had used it in a negative way. Perhaps coming out of this discussion I will have a better understanding about how ladies feel about the term MILF.

The original international was "your friends mom is so hot". So if your friend is at least 18, she would be at least 36 if she had her first child at 18. However, it seems that the age some women have their first child is getting younger and younger. I have a friend who became a grandmother at 35, so technically she would be a gilf.

It has slowly progressed into any woman who has had a child, so, a 20 year old mother could technically be called a milf.

Personally, I prefer the term cougar. She enjoys seeing men younger then her, and it is not dependent on whether she had a child or not. However, the term seems to have more negative definitions.

I find most labels used as a shortcut to describe someone, leave too much to interpretation. If it's meant to be endearing it's used between friends, otherwise most times a label is used, it is not used with the person being labelled

Two young men calling another person a milf, may elicit a type of reaction and shared image of a lady, which could be in good fun or degrading.

I don't see much/any upside calling a lady a milf when speaking to them, but then I don't use eff as a noun, verb, adjective, in regular conversation, nor am I illiterate.

I thought MILF only referred to physical attributes. "Conventional Wisdom" - notice the quotes - says that before pregnancy, a woman is physically desirable and after pregnancy her body becomes undesirable due to the physical changes. Some women have genetics/physiology/whatever that allow them to return to the way they looked before they were pregnant. Some women also exercise There's also another way in which women don't go back to the way they looked before they got pregnant, but their bodies are still desirable.

A MILF must be at least 18.

Breast size is irrelevant. It seems that porn promotes the idea that women must have big breasts in order to be a MILF, but in my definition as long as they look good then that's enough. I'm not into big breasts anyway.

MILF does not refer to the motherly or caring maternal behaviours of a woman.

That being said, I do not refer to women as MILFs. The word "mother" is supposed to be about loving and caring, not about being a receptacle. When you call someone a MILF you are purely thinking about them as a piece of meat, and that's why women hate the term.

I detest that the term MILF has crept into conventional vocabulary. The term originated in the porn industry and if it has to exist it should exist within that context only. About a year of so ago a certain politician was referred to as an MILF. Is that respectful by any measure? Earlier in this thread a reference was made to a 14 year old male using the term. Ugh. We recently had a thread tiled "Is religion holding us back?" (it was a pretty good thread, grueling at times but good). One thing we know for sure that is holding our society back is bad attitudes among the sexes. In particular, certain attitudes of men towards women that lead to a litany of social problems from harassment in the workplace to out-rite abuse. Those are the types of issues we need to deal with to move our society forward and the term MILF is no help at all.

Suggesting to young males, (or for that matter any male), that an attractive older woman (or for that matter any woman of any age) is primarily to be acknowledged by the desire to have sex with her is a step backwards. We are to acknowledge one another for we are. Oh sure, sex is wonderful, this community knows that better than most, but it is most wonderful when it is mutual and consensual. Labeling a person in a sexual way, unknowingly to her is neither mutual or respectful. I say again, its a step backward folks.

That's all I have to say on that.

Here's the thing. How are we suppose to keep our ads clear, because I don't see any somewhat interesting way to say the truth, without it being a turn-off?

And I thought ''cougar'' was a term for a woman older than 40. Regardless if she is a mother or not...

Motherhood and Sexuality...madonna, whore.

Viewing yourself as a mother, is different from viewing yourself as a sexual being. They are in a way, compartmentalized. So when a man/boy calls a woman a MILF, they are actually mixing the two (as well as putting down motherhood and womanhood) so to expect a woman to be flattered by that term, without training her to be flattered, should not be expected.

Also just because SPs use that language does not mean they completely embrace it. It is just speaking to certain men in THEIR terms. A way to market yourself to a specific group.

Additional Comments:

I find most labels used as a shortcut to describe someone, leave too much to interpretation. If it's meant to be endearing it's used between friends, otherwise most times a label is used, it is not used with the person being labelled

Yes!!

It is to be used about a woman to another male (friend whatever) and NOT to the female. Locker room talk only!! When a young male asks me if that is what I am or tells me that is what I am, I am at a loss, always, as I don't how to deal with that....other than to try to use term in an ad to create an image for an interested person.

Additional Comments:

Its like this... We are in the throes of passion, intimacy seems to be the next step and then I am told that I am a MILF. My first thought it not 'oh that is so sexy', it is "What do my kid(s) have to do with this?"

It's like a man being right in the moment, being primal and all :) and then she talks about his mother!! It makes you go "Huh?"
