What is the best strip club in NCR among the best known clubs?

In my view the best known clubs in NCR are Barbarellas, Barefax, Pigale, Playmates, NuDen and Taboo. There could be two more I haven't been past 10 years and they are not well known. So what is the best one in terms of (these are my factors to consider as assets but you may have different factors)

1 - Quality of ladies (looks and age are number 1 factor in my book)

2 - Quality of Champagne room dances (open or private Champagne rooms, panties on (or off) policy till the end of first/second song).

3 - Quality of stage dances (visibility of dancers and panties on/off policy).

4 - The environment (friendly, staff attitudes, family club feeling)

5 - Cost but it is all almost the same in all these clubs like $20 private dance and drinks more or less same but free buffet helps.

And base on above factors this is my ranking

1 - Barefax (having young beautiful ladies with private Champagne rooms and good environment and good to very good qualify of Private dances and good quality of stage dances. The daily free buffet (twice a day) helps scoring high on environment).

2 - Barbarellas (having young even more beautiful ladies but with open Champagne rooms and a passing environment though not so cool staff in my view and fair quality of private dances in spite of open Champagne rooms with cameras in it but good quality of stage dances in spite of few keeping panties on and daily noon buffet once daily. Buffet is not as free as barefax cost very little).

3 - Playmates (having older not as beautiful ladies as above two bars but much higher mileage in semi-private Champaign rooms but good to very good quality of private dances (not to mention the upstairs option for those who wish more, but for me this is no advantage). Good to very good quality of stage dancing too. Also Scores high on environment as most patrons and girls know each other for years but not the classiest bar so scores low on the latter. Free buffet once a week on Wednesday noon time only).

4 - Pigale (They score high on quality of dancers though in my view not as high as Barbs, Fax or NuDen. The Champagne room dancers are very good quality and private so scoring real high there and stage dancing is fair as recently some dancers keep panties on especially on second stage which opens up after 10:00 pm. The environment is fair as nobody knows nobody really though too noisy late at night. Free buffet every weekday. The fact that they are closed Saturday daytime makes me to rank them lower than they deserve).

5 - NuDen (I can't really judge this one well but they do have young beautiful ladies so score high on this but quality of stage dances and private dances are real low in my view because of up-the-hill stage and the very open Champagne rooms. I boycotted this club about 7-8 years ago when the bouncer asked me to stop kissing (and the kissing was mutual with complete dancer's seal of approval. I also never like the environment).

6 - Taboo (scoring below average on quality of dancers though you may find exceptions sometimes and not as many stage dancing as other clubs because it is not busy most of the time so scoring low on stage dances even though it is panties off club during stage dance as yet but quality of Champagne room dances the likely the highest in NCR. Environment is fair to poor not classy. I personalty don't like the big bearded guy who was a bouncer a decade ago and is back as the DJ now. Slightly cheaper drinks).

I like to conduct a poll so that we all see how you feel. I made the poll a single choice as there can be only one best but if you wish to also rank a second and third best then like myself above you can post in this thread with your choices and reasons. So my vote goes with Barefax but a very close second is Barbarellas.

My vote goes to Barbarella's, but I'd rank BareFax as a close second.

Certainly understand that many are less than thrilled with certain aspects of the CR at Barb's, but as has been discussed in the 'Barb's' thread, this is less of an issue at times when things are not especially busy in the club/CR.

Everyone will have his (or her) own reasons for preferring one over another, but I have always liked the overall layout of Barb's with the club seeming not too small for comfort, but not overwhelmingly large, either.

Have never been entirely comfortable with the 'grand staircase', 'stairway to heaven' feel ascending (and descending) from the CR area at the 'Fax - and can remember a time when there was a limited amount of CR space on the main floor but that was some time ago.

Perhaps I should note that it's been a number of years since I've been in either of these clubs at night, so my ranking is based on day visits.

The 'Mate deserves mention for its very casual (during the afternoon, anyway) atmosphere, but will strike many clubgoers as just too slow in general. To me, the 'Mate is best for either hoping for a particular encounter (i.e. with a fave dancer) or just 'hanging out' without particularly high expectations for.....well, for anything - certain kinds of dancers, frequency of stage rotation, large numbers of dancers etc. Most typical expectations should be discarded prior to entering the 'Mate and one should just hope for the best. I've had a very stimulating time there but, just as often, have left after a short while as things just seemed lethargic.

Barbarella's (with some exceptions on certain Saturday afternoons) has seemed the most consistent of the venues I've frequented, but consistency may not be a characteristic valued by all.

I hope some will post to give reasons for their own preferences, especially regarding the places with which some of us are less familiar such as Pigale and Taboo.

I like the Playmate because you can get all size and shapes and races. You can get young to mid-40. I am a gentleman who prefer a good looking woman over 29. And the stair well is easy to navigate.

Barbs is my 2nd choice like Phoenix

The Den is my 3rd but is very hit and miss and don't even have ladies sometimes.

The one in Ottawa South too far.

There is no way I can make it up the Barefax stairs . I would need an elevator!

Don't like the Quebec side! too far for me now!

BF & Barbs don't score high for me because of parking. I've paid too many tickets over the years-the beautiful girls make me forget.

Pigales is my favourite, good parking, great food, beautiful girls plus very private CR. Many of the staff working there have been there for over 20 years.

Playmate is my #2 primarily for the beautiful mature ladies there plus reasonable CR.

Den is far too quiet (daytime)

Taboo has lost my 2 favourite girls there.

I love the atmosphere of Pigales, once you get past the front door anyway. The servers and bartenders are great, such a vast range of girls, lots of alt girls, ebony, barbie blonds, I like that place. Also the CR is excellent, you get a nice walk down the stairs and get to know the dancer a bit more. The booths down there are just big enough to be comfortable relaxed. Of course the parking is great and there are cheap motels all along the road there if you are visiting the area and when you're done and slightly drunk and sticky you can go to the 24 hour Mcdonalds right across the road.

I like Barbs a lot too, but I find the place a bit small and the CR is just too open. Barefax has awesome looking girls as well like Barbs and Pigales, but I just find it too much of a frat house and too touristy. Playmate I used to really like but haven't been in a few years, I ilke the neighborhood feel of the place and the less fake looking girls there but for some reason I'm not drawn back there.

I voted Pigales because it's the last SC in the Ottawa area that I have visited and i agree with others about parking and fine ladies. I wish I could have voted for a bar on the Ontario side of the river but only been to the playmate once and the Den once since it moved(20 years ago?).

Barb's scores high, but Pigale is still my favorite.

Yeah Pigale is winning BIG time!!!!. I have to try it more often. Not sure why they are closed Saturday day time. With so much popularity they very likely do much better than Barbs, Barefax and certainly Taboo which and all are open Saturday day time and Taboo is just across the street from Pigale. Lazy staff or they feel they won't get any business so why Taboo across the street does?

I find the gals at Pigalle to be absolutely mercenary at times, high-pressure sales, sometimes the arithmetic is a bit off, but I suppose that's how it is. Not really a fan. Taboo used to be good for some really down and dirty fun, have had to leave with my jacket clutched over my chest to hide the evidence if a very good dance indeed. Now, it seems to be a wasteland. No fun. Used to go to Club 77 in Gatineau years ago, called something else now, was hit and miss. Club 66 in Aylmer (gone now) was always a blast, definitely high mileage. Been to Nuden once, that was more than enough. Never to Barb's or Fax. Now the Playmate... an oasis of fun in a desert of deprivation! Have started to go the odd evening, and even if the girls are few, there's always a really good pool table, fantastic staff (managers especially), and a generally laid back and pleasant atmosphere. Had the exquisite pleasure of some dances with Brandy and Ruby, both a credit to the profession. Both gals were extremely pleasant, no pressure for wallet-emptying, and was almost under-charged, as the first song had just began when we arrived at the inner sanctum and was spent "getting acquainted" gratis. Best move ever, guarantees reciprocal decency. Other than these charming lasses, have yet to further test the waters, but I love this place - good vibes, good folk and a great pool table (I love that!). Would love to visit the cubbyhole upstairs, the more furtive the better for me, and I love voyeuristic thrills. Sadly, my pass-time usually ends quite late, so by the time I can make it down, that area is closed. If by chance, someone familiar with the Mate could recommend good company for the "penthouse", I'd be in your debt! Great thread, thanks H&K!

My vote goes to Pigale. Best girls are there. Nice champagne rooms.

Second place would be Bare Fax. Girls are good but not as good as Pigale.

Third place would be Nuden. I do not like the openness of the Champagne room and the chairs in the champagne room are horrible.

I am boycotting Barbs because of the video cameras.

I have not been to the other ones so I do not know about them.

The poll will end soon as I think I set it for 5 days last Tuesday and the final result is:

1 - Pigale wins the Gold medal as the Champion with close to 40% of the votes cast.

2 - Barbarellas wins Silver and comes a distant second with about 25% of the votes.

3 - Barefax wins Bronze and comes third with over 15% of the votes cast.

Please gentlemen support your local bars and the angels who work in them who are there to show you the doors to heaven.. Ottawa has the best strip clubs in North America (because they can attract the best dancers) so help them to remain open by visiting them as often as you can and take the angels to the Champagne rooms as they have to pay bar fees and transportation all because they wish to show you the doors to heaven.

Ya this is pretty much how I would rate the Ottawa clubs with a close third for the Den, doesn't get much love on here but it's one of my favs. But for the amount of quality women and atmosphere, hard to beat pigales.

Well I know it's a broken record thing to say but those clubs wouldn't be under so much threat of closing if songs were $10 again. I know the buisiest and most popular girls would lose out but everyone else would gain and the clubs would fill with way more customers.

Not sure Ottawa clubs are any better than some in the GTA but there's a lot less hustle in Ottawa which I appreciate.

You may have a good point thepartypegeon that bars may be making more money as they may attract more customers. By increasing the price to $20 overnight in 2001 they drove themselves and some dancers out of business. First because many surpassed their affordability so they quit coming to strip bars and second because the $20 per song price for 3-4 minute dance raise overnight could not compete with existing better and less expensive alternatives like escorts and masseuses a phone call away as many patrons (not all and certainly not me) prefer seeing them to dancers who will in all likelihood offer much higher mileage and in some cases at lower prices. I think a small gradual rise would have been more appropriate.

All that said though if I recall correctly the $10 songs were no contact (nothing like what we have in Ottawa now) and back in year 2000. Since then there has been some 30% to 40% inflation not to mention that rents and housing has been doubled at the least. It won't be fair on ladies to slide back the prices to 15 years ago. Just imagine how devastating it would be for us if our incomes are scaled back to year 2000 level!!!. One might argue and say with $10 ladies may receive much more dances and hence make more yes it is possible but in my view not likely as I for one won't take table dances or non-contact dancing or any dances not involving hugs and kisses and affection even at $10 because all the fun is taken away. But that is just me and I am guessing many other patrons too.

Actually the no contact $10 table dance is back at Pigales now. I saw girls dancing on corner tables. And there is a big sign informing patrons about no contact $10 table dancing in case you are interested since you brought it up but many others maybe interested to know this too.
