Some small things to have and not have

If you are getting into this and care not to share this information with others in your life, here are a couple of important things.

Don't leave cookies or history. Chrome browser makes it very easy to delete your cookies and history every time you finish a CERB session. If you use Internet Explorer you will find it under Internet Options.

CCleaner. Free software available here. Install it and run it after every session. It quickly cleans temporary Internet files, cookies, history, and caches in both Internet Explorer and Firefox at the same time, as well as empties your Recycle Bin and rids your computer of Windows log files.

Occasionally run the command %temp% (with XP, click on Start, click on Run, enter %temp%, click OK. The Windows 7 Run command is similar). Delete all the files that show up. They are temporary files you do not need. A few files may not delete. Don't worry about them.

"Find My Friends" phone app. Don't. If someone wants you to have it, turn it off when making a visit or be prepared with a good story for why you were at XX address for YY time. If you have a Blackberry, Google Latitude or the EchoEcho app provide the same function. If you get a separate phone for this hobby, ignore this one.

Never mind turning off the app... when you're going to spend time with someone, turn off your whole damn phone!

Left my computer on accidently. S/O found cerb open. Luckily I had just gotten back from a trip in which my brother is an avid pooner. :S

Needless to say Ive got to be more careful.

Carefull though. Outright deleting history can be just as suspicious. Specialy if you share the computer and the other person can't seem to find back some of his/her sites.

Had that problem once when i was deleting history to hide that i watched porn sites. =p

Perhaps you better hide your browsing history from your cat as well. Dont want to give it the wrong idea s about Tom Catting!

On browser history, caches, etc: browsers can be set up to automatically delete these things when they're closed. This has two advantages: you don't have to remember to do it (and therefore can't forget); and since it happens all the time, it's not suspicious.

go into private browsing before accessing your favourite sites. Then no record should be kept. Just remember to exit private browsing when you're done.

Porthos

Install a second browser! Firefox is my main browser and so I use IE7 for anything "personal". that way I can quickly clear history leaving anything I don't care about for all to see on Firefox.

Mercury is also a good browser to have on the iPhone that most people would overlook if they went through your phone.

Porthos has it. Chrome icognito works well for me.

Chrome Incognito would definitely do the trick. Would help prevent any "accidents" from happening!!!

Question for a first timer here. I am curious as to what practices others use in regards to wallet/cellphone when the only method of transportation.. is public transport? Thanks in advance.
