My 2 cents is that this is a scam. I would never give anyone my credit card number in order to verify my identity. There are a lot of scams on CL...bait and switch etc.

Cowboy Kenny is the expert on this stuff...but my initial reaction is steer clear of this stuff.

It looks like a scam to me, too. Some escorts ask for deposits to book an appointment (I do), but that's after exchanging e-mail with the prospective client AND I do it through PayPal, which will not reveal your name or credit card number to me, so your privacy remains protected.

Even if you take away any kind of CC verification, money up front or whatever...any girl that looks like that, posts a face pic on CL, says she has no restrictions and charges next to nothing = SCAM. Best case scenario you could hope for here is bait and switch....

Sorry to disapoint pal, it's a scam. Any "verification" or Safe date sites are a scam. Never Hobby with plastic. If you have to jump through hoops to get a date with these girls, it's a scam plain and simple. The previously discussed amount discretely placed in an envelop in plain view is the only way you should be taking care of financial matters.

Check out my diary for more details on verification scams

...pay the $1 fee for verification, there is no need for you to read any further.

If you are willing to visit my website and complete the

verification...I cannot and will not risk my safety in the event you're

a cop, minor or you have a criminal record. Again the website is

www.datealexis.com Once you have completed the verification process,

feel free to call me anytime.

Good lord! You have to ask as to if this is a scam? Obviously it is. Why would there be a $1 fee for verification? Then the ad tells you "there is no need for you to read any further".

Since when was a credit card a valid form of I.D. verification? You can't even get a library card using a c/c for I.D.

How would using a c/c reveal that you are either a cop, a minor, or have a criminal record when all three of those type of individuals can get a c/c?

If you do have a criminal record, why is that relevant? You could have a record from a silly immature act you did 50+ years ago; not relevant now.

You don't necessarily have to stay away from CL itself. You just have to be VERY selective about who you choose ;).

I would advise to stay with a reputable site and you will be far happier, could only take one real bad experience to do a lot of damage to you and your reputation, just my opinion happy pooning.

My friend went through the same situation. The format sounds the same. It seems datemisty.com is the same as this mentioned site. They ask for $1 for verification but never reply. I am waiting to see what the damage will be to my friend's cc. Will keep all posted as soon as he finds out. If it sounds to good to be true it is. SCAM

Any CC verification is a scam. Plain and simple.

Sps want you to be able to contact with a minimum of effort. They are not going to make it hard for you.

I have heard that CL in Winnipeg is not the best place to search for sps. I think it might have to do with the bylaws there, which make it nearly impossible to see any sps.

Since you are a member of this site, and if you are fairly new to the scene, why not just choose someone who advertises here? Contact them thru this site, or call their #. This is a much safer way for you to conduct your biz in Winnipeg.

Then when you travel East or West, you can know that you can use CL for your search in other cities (excepting maybe Edmonton, but there you can go to one of many reputable mps anyway, making your selection safe and simple).

Boy oh boy oh boy!

As a newbie and SP first-timer in training, I'm sure glad the sheriff was in when I rode into town. Your cowboy diary should be required reading for any newbie joining this site. The information you provide is invaluable and can potentially save a poor slob much $$$ and embarassment, but also miss out on many a pleasurable night.

A BIG BIG Thank you

It's like anything that's free...you take your chances. As an SP who has chosen to advertise on that site, I take care in trying to set myself apart from the scammers.

It helps that I can actually write and spell, have a site you can go to, and post a real picture. For amusement, I voted myself the "best speller on Ottawa's Erotic CL list". Some of my clients agreed with me and told me they booked me because I didn't sound sketchy.

It's harder for you guys cuz it's your hard earned cash on the line.

For me, it's wading out the tire kickers, but for some reason I haven't had to drain too many phone cards answering rude questions lately. But, I agree with others - stick to consulting EC (or CERB) cuz if they're scammers they will be found out and banned.

I am doing okay....

But Cowboy Kenny is right on...anyone asking for cc in advance is up to something.

BTW, I spelled "cuz" that way on purpose...I know bad joke for someone saying they can spell.
