Likely because the NUden is a regular big account advertiser and they would not want to put them in a bad light. Either that or just bad journalism/reporting skills :lol:

Some kid on the weekend police beat just writing down what the cops told him or her to file a four item overnight police event filler in under 200 words would be my guess.

Some editor on the night news desk may have been experienced enough to figure out it was the Nuden or smart enough to check and put 2 + 2 together. But as you say, in that case, why kick a fairly high revenue advertiser in the nuts?

I hear that, I stopped due to mucho money being spent for no satisfaction and now all these shootings lately. Another good reason to stick with a trusted SP or MA!

This is why i stopped going to the clubs. The clubs now are full of Pimps and drug dealers and everyone knwos that the Neden is little more then a Hells Agnels hang out. Ive known quite a few girls who have worked there over the years and non of them really like it. The Strip Clubs in Ottawa are not what they used to be 10-20 years ago. The girls keep geting younger, some girls are still turning tricks with there clients. Theres a reason why they all have Cell Phones now lol Its a big game. A lot of girls are on drugs. Its constent Drama, Drama Drama everyday. Just a lot of BS. No Thanks. lol

Ill spend my hard earned dollars on a Gorgeous SP any day of the week. They are professional, no head games, no drama, honest and you get waht u pay for .. obviously lol

Risk assessment sure does vary wildly between people. I consider going to strip clubs a LOWER risk than incalls. The way we parse risk here would be considered quite ridiculous by somebody on another more sedate hobby board (like, say, video games) where the risk is zero. This whole hobby is on the higher side of the risk scale, I'd say.

working in the industry I see your points. just don't paint ALL of them with the same brush. any smart person can tell in the first 5 minutes of talking to some of these girls what exactly they are doing there, but there are still a few nice ones around and I actually have a few of those nice ones as long term friends because of the fact they DONT get involved with the rest of the garbage one has to sift thru in strip joints. But I totally get your points.

I have worked at the Nuden for almost 2 years and the management has never EVER tried to get a sexual favor from me. The one manager that everyone hates, not mentioning names, I have never had a problem with. if you had to deal with these girls everyday you would be bitter too.

What happened Saturday could have happened ANYWHERE. It has nothing to do with the establishment. Some drunk idiots trying to prove something.

Also ive had the same cell phone for years and years. I have a car, an apartment, a business, dont drink and dont do drugs. Not all dancers r alike

On second thought...couldnt resist. Went this afternoon. I don't know about "biker bar" and all the other stuff that was said earlier. But I'm about the furthest thing from a biker if you catch my drift and I feel completely at ease there.

Really, that sort of thing could happen anywhere where you have a large number of people plus alcohol. It's not like a nightly occurrence. The girl who was on stage when it happened (Jasmine) was really upset and said she was sure it was going to severely decrease business though. Probably true.

I agree with curious2 and I think that this Nu Den is probably safer now than it's ever been. I worked last night and there was a strong police presence. You wouldn't know if you didn't pay proper attention, but there were undercovers. The perpetrators are known and it is highly unlikely they would return to the Nu Den because they would most certainly be caught.

As for business, it was pretty much a normal Monday night. None the customers mentioned the shooting to me. The other dancers told me that even the Sunday after the shooting was pretty normal.

I know the point CH is trying to make, but actually, in my view, this is exactly the gang relationship I would expect in an SC - or dance club down in the Market. A bunch of hopped-up gang banger punks want to show they're are just as "bad ass" as their hip-hop heroes and and so start shooting people more or less at random outside the place because they were pissed at being thrown out for behaving like the assholes they are.

gangs have been hanging out in clubs for years and years...not just bikers either. These hi-hop guys are just as dangerous if not more than any biker I have ever known

Actually the point I was gonna make is that SC's particularly that one, have an association with biker gangs. They don't like to "shit in their own nest" so these guys coming in and starting something there was not a good idea. I am pretty sure who my money would be on if it came down to a battle between the HA and the Banff-Ledbury Cripps.

Yes, exactly CH. Plus bikers, except for the Angels/Rock Machine bombing wars in Montreal, usually don't take out by-standers. They are usually very experienced and focused guys when it comes to a business hit.

This is why I don't go to strip clubs. Not a fan of the places, I find they are a big waste of money and if someone started something with me instinct tends to kick in. That's why I stopped going to them, some guys crossed the line with me and turned out to be a bad night for them! ;) It's just not my thing, plus I would rather spend my time with an SP anyway.

you guys are right on about the HA. I don't know anything about the cripps. This club has always been associated with the bikers going way back to ythe old location up the street. The funny thing is when they don't have their patches on, I have seen them at different bars on the market.

I am not much into the clubs nowdays like was stated earlier, the girls are younger and like seeing shit happen and are into high school drama.

When I was around 17 to 20 we would go to Valentino's on Somerset. That club was fun, and the girls where fun and I didn't see to much drama, or fights. What was an eye opener for a 17 year old at the time were strippers doing coke in the mens bathrooms and offering trips upstairs.

Not worth the drama to go to those clubs anymore
