What the heck is wrong with people these days? Five officers shot, three killed by a raving lunatic. Whats the world coming to

It's a snowball effect. One unstable person sees the news sensationalizing a situation like this and it gives them a false sense of importance and celebrity. I mean, look at the kid who was one of the Boston bombers: cover of the Rolling Stone.

Also violence is glorified everywhere. Every movie has gory brutal murders. Kids are playing video games where you can beat up streetwalkers and kill police. The line between entertainment and problematic is blurred.

I don't know if this type of thing was as prevalent before everything became instant news via internet and social media, but it certainly is now. It's all we hear about. Massacre at this school, shooter goes on rampage in that place of work. A lot of people are looking for their 15 mins of fame and with news covering this stuff daily, they get it.

With this guy in Moncton and with the kid in California recently, both had social media with major red flags. This was open to the public. People need to be more responsive to this stuff. It's not a game and it isn't a joke. Someone sees social media like that, they need to get cops involved. And police need to take it seriously. Like joking about bombs at an airport, this kind of thing should be taken very seriously and investigated to full extent.

I can't imagine what the friends and families of these officers are going through.
