Still missing Hooters in Ottawa

Recommended Posts

Am I the only one who still laments the closing of not one but ALL Hooters restuarants in Ottawa? When the closing of the market Hooters coincided with the firing of my favourite Barefax dancer in 2006 (Madison, by the way), I seriously asked myself "Why do I even work downtown anymore??"

THe food was horrible at Hooters I mean how do you screw up wings. Fortunately with the demise of Hooters, Moxies has taken up the slack with better looking woman and good food.

I always enjoyed Hooters and am sad they're gone. I was in Las Vegas recently and had fun at Hooter's casino - try paying attention to your cards with a Hooters girl as dealer though :)

I'm thinking people are remembering Hooters fondly through the rose coloured glasses of nostalgia. From what I can remember of them, most of their girls didn't fill their billing. And besides, Hooters was mainly a phenomenon of sexually-repressed American redneck states. Places where stripclubs are banned, and bibles are thumped. It was their only choice to act human. Here in Canada (so far, despite Harper), we're a bit more freer.

For me it was all about those outfits! And Hooters girls were generally sweet and friendly, although certainly not always. I know where to buy non-logo'd Hooters outfits new online (http://www.hotlegsusa.com) but my wife outrightly refuses to let me buy her one. And coordinating an outfit purchase with an SP just seems way too complicated... Maybe someday.

not to usurp peoples' opinions, but...

Hooter's sucked. Terrible food...weird nylons, very few "hooter-y" girls...why waste time. Go to a strip club with a buffet. free food and naked girls with the price of one drink...Hooter's didn't have a chance with this kind of competition.

Well, for those being nostalic who went to the Bells Corner location you can relive some of your experience by going to the The Greenfields pub in Barrhaven. Seems at least one Hooter's girl has found a new job there. :)

It was a bad idea to bring it here to Ottawa. They food was horrible and very expensive. They were not allowed to hire only hot big chested ladies as that was against the law as everyone has to be judge on there merit. And I don't recall but weren't they only allowed to sell beer and no hard liquor. But again I only went twice and our server was not very attractive and the food was terrible and expensive.

While the waitresses hooters left something to be desired I found those hot pants to be wonderful. Should have called it Tushers here, the couple times I was there I saw underwhelming hooters but some fine asses!

I visited the Hooters on St-Laurent when it first open and was greeted by a wonderful waitress ( Bubbles was her name ) and had a business meal there, I agree the food was not that great but we had a nice waitress. The one thing that gave me trouble was that she wrote a note on the back of the receipt with her phone number and I never seen it until I gave the bill to my employer and was asked about it.... I simply told them it was for the other guy and they bought it.

Shaving cream - its used by pro hockey players to remove glove funk from their hands, it will work on covering/masking just about any odor, and is 100% explainable why you smell like shaving cream.

I have no idea how this post got into this discussion - it was supposed to be for the "removing odor" thread...sorry folks.

Not an auspicious first post...ha.
