Men charged for pimping teens

Two 17-year-old girls from Toronto were being pimped for sex in the Ottawa area until area police stumbled upon them when they made four gang-related arrests last week.

The runaways are alleged to have been caught up in the sex trade when they met two brothers, who began posting pictures of the girls online soliciting sex. They were offered at an hourly rate for outcalls and incalls, a term used to describe whether the girl goes to a John or he goes to them.

When the girls were doing incalls they were set up in Gatineau motels.

The Gatineau police investigation began following a home invasion Feb. 8 at 370 Prado St. near Aylmer. During that incident, three suspects beat and robbed a man.

With information from that investigation Gatineau police, with the help of the Ottawa police tactical unit, made two arrests linked to the home invasion. The investigation then took police to 12 Joanisse St. in Hull where a third man was taken into custody.

Police said they found equipment stolen during the Prado home invasion. They also seized several cloned credit cards and a small amount of cash.

Ottawa police arrested a fourth man linked to the home invasions who was with the two girls. The girls were handed over to the Children's Aid Society.

Francis A. Antoine, 26, is being held by Ottawa police on other charges. He is to be transferred to Gatineau Friday. His brother Wayne A. Antoine, 29, was one of the three arrested earlier.

Jeffrey Chaddesingt, 26, and Kayla Doy-Yate, 19, were also arrested.

Charges range from robbery, assault causing harm, use of a firearm, pandering, possession of credit cards cloned, prostitution and wearing disguises.

Police say the men have ties to street gangs.
