Blocking member PMs

Getting tired of etasman2000's corny one-liners ?

Does seeing his PM in your Inbox give you a bad case of rash ?

You can now do something!

1. Browse to the member's Profile page. (Search/Search Members)

2. Under the member's handle just beside Send Message is the User

Lists drop down. Click on the User Lists and select Add to Ignore List

3. Click "Yes" and you are done.

Alternative:

1. Click User CP on the top left hand corner of the Forum.

2. Under Settings & Options click on Edit Ignore List

3. Type in member's handle, partial matches will show a drop down list. Go ahead practice with etasman2000.

4. Click "OK" and you are done.

Also bear in mind that when you place a member on your "Ignore List", it blocks other things besides PMs. You will not be able to read anything a member on your "Ignore List" has written - this includes Guest Book Visitor Messages, Picture Comments, and, last but not least, Public Forum Posts.

I agree with WIT ... use this option only as a last resort as its a double-edge sword. If somebody is pissing you off enough where you want to exercise that option, you may want to see if they are also dissing you on a forum.

You can actually, on threads there will be a little link in the top right of a post that says 'View Post'.

Thanks Naomi. That's a much more convenient option than having to toggle your ignore-list on-and-off to read the posts!

I have never used the block option and I don't think I would. If I ever receive a negative or rude Pm I would just report it and move on.

But that's just me I guess if some use it is because they obviously have no choice or simply choose not to hear from a particular person.
