Firefox & Saved U/N

I have deleted all cookies and history from Firefox, but still when I go to gmail.com and click to type in my username, "meganstouch" comes up. This is a shared computer. How do I stop this from happening?

run firefox in safe mode

Try tools -> options -> privacy and make sure 'Remember search and form history' is unchecked. This will stop it happening in future.

To remove what it's remembered now, I *think* you can:

- Go to gmail

- click in the username bit

- press the down arrow to bring up a list of usernames, and again until yours is highlighted

- hit delete (or possibly shift-delete if you have a very old FF version)

I haven't tried the second bit, 'cos I did the first a very long time ago :)

Unless you are using private browsing mode or have auto complete turned off it will return.

You have three options, private browsing mode, turn off autocomplete or delete the user name each time you use the computer

not to steer away from the subject here, but for privacy reason.. Google's Chrome Incognito mode i found the best... no trace of anything.. at all..

but then i used mutliple different browser for different purpose :)
