I think it is appropriate to have discussions on dancers and strip bars on the review board, however, whether or not we need to have a separate section for that, it may be a good idea, depending on how many posts we will have there.

(Nude) dancers are also service providers (with no FS) and there has been already a number of threads related to strip clubs (one thread by myself as well as several posts), and some by others. And as mod made it clear, the same rules (that applies to escorts and agencies) applies to dancers and strip clubs on this board (no negative comments or fightings).

I agree a strip club section might not be bad idea, they do keep coming up in this courtesan discussion area. The other day I went out to the Cabaret across the bridge from Hawksberry with some other cerbites was a good trip could be in the section? Plus a who's who of the scene might make it easier for people who do not regularly go to narrow down there selection. I am sure it will be more popular than the male escort section is! Not puting down us Man whores of course.

I have said it before, will say it again...yes strip club info is awesome, + it brings back old memories of 1st BBBJ in a strip bar, being able to watch, touch lovely ladies that danced the night away back in the 70's and 80's...those were great times too! Now last time I was at a strip bar...well its gone now completed gone shut down..so I won't be able to tell you!

Why not. I wouldn't mind hearing about strip clubs and who are top performers in the various clubs. Just like SPs and MPs I am sure the services vary. Have been to barberellas a few times lately and saw many nice looking dancers.

Also I do know of a few clubs that offer FS. They are not close by but still some may want to do like Dummpy and others, go out for field trips.

You have a point LS it variety while hobbying is key. I have talked to ex-strippers who have told me stories that have shocked me. In my own experience I have met and left with some great memories. Sometimes great arrangements can be made at the bar for afterwords ;-)

A section on dancer recommendations / strip clubs is a great addition to CERB.

BTW Jason's became the Polar Bear and then it closed. Nothing in Kanata.

Thank you very much mod. This board is so rapidly expanding everyday and becoming more and more interactive. It is great. This new section on strip bars will be very helpful to become aware of top notch dancers in the region.

I started a large thread recently entitled a comparative review of strip bars in Ottawa-Gatineau that many dancers in different strip bars were recommended by myself and other members too. As a suggestion, I wonder if to your judgement it would be now appropriate to move the thread to this new section?

I did not add one before as most of the strip clubs have been going down hill for years and years now - sounds like Ottawa still has some good clubs.

The strip club business in many cities has just dropped off and many clubs are closing and hurting. I figure it's due to higher and higher prices, drunk driving awareness and let's face it you spend 200.00 in 30 minutes in a club and walk away with blue balls in most cases so the millage is low compared to other places. I know the massage spa's in many cities are taking a lot more people's money then the strip clubs do these days.

When the clubs started charging 6.00+ a drink (many having a mandatory drink rule to buy a drink every 30/45 minutes) and 20+ a song per dance I knew the industry was going to burn itself out.

I still recall the party days where the clubs were packed, the dances were 5.00 a song and were done on the horseshoe private stages or the little dance stools the ladies would carry around (when the clubs were standing room only on weekends). I knew many of the ladies back then an they make MUCH more money back then at 5.00 a song then most do these days at 20.00 a song.... but things change.

It will be an interesting read to see how the clubs are doing in Ottawa. The last time I took a club tour in Ottawa was about 1997 (I think) I remember barbarella diamons, bare fax and a place called the pink panther over in QC. I think we hit about 5 or 6 places that night but that is all I recall from those days. The QC clubs were so very different from the Ottawa clubs (they had private rooms in some of them) is that still the case?

The last time I took a club tour in Ottawa was about 1997 (I think) I remember barbarella diamons, bare fax and a place called the pink panther over in QC. I think we hit about 5 or 6 places that night but that is all I recall from those days. The QC clubs were so very different from the Ottawa clubs (they had private rooms in some of them) is that still the case?

For a few years all the strip bars in Ottawa and Quebec sides had private rooms (Champaign rooms) where dancers were performing privately and it was contact dancing (prior to 2001, it was Quebec side only and between 2001 to late 2007 it was both Ottawa and Quebec side like this). Those years were the great years with maximum mileage and total privacy on both sides of the bridge.

In September 2007, a new bylaw in Ottawa, removed the privacy of Champaign rooms regretfully. However, contact dancing is still allowed (and still dances are at $20 per song) but not fully private anymore (although some bars are stretching the law by trying to make it as private as the law permits. i.e. by hiding the rooms with branches of trees supposedly used as decoration!! and may be they really are). Still even though business is down for dancers on Ottawa side, but it didn't go down as much as it was originally feared. The Champaign rooms in Pigale, Taboo and Club 77 are still great and totally private. Not so private at Pink Panther (never was).

Mind you another factor for business downturn for strip bars (apart from the reasons that rightly explained by mod) was the no smoking bylaw in 2004 in Ottawa bars and 2007 (I think) in Gatineau (I am personally all for it), as many smokers abandoned the hobby (going to strip bars) for this reason. The expensive $20 dance (jumped overnight from $10 to $20 in 2001 in Ottawa) for a 3 minute dance of course was another reason (just touching and with regulars kissing too but that is all). As well the prices for drinks went up too (not as much as dance prices though).

One big advantage about strip bars though (from my point of view) is that one can be with 6,7, 8 different girls (all very pretty as I can see and choose them) for just $300 -$400 over couple of hours (talking before dance included). Also I found it a lot easier to become friends with dancers (their time does not appear to be as much important as SPs but I may be wrong in this regard) and go out to dinner with them or invite them over or just be friends with them within the bar as I know many of those girls for years now seeing them regularly and after all these time friendship develops. One drawback, when one stops dancing or changes job (i.e. my most favourite and friend Mary Jane stopped after graduation, or Drew who moved to the States or Suzy finding another job all at Barbarellas) it makes me sad. Although same can happen with an SP but not as frequent.

Thanks for the club update. I forgot about the smoking laws - I guess that would have a big impact too. Good point.

I have to wonder how many guys have done what I did. I used to go to strip bars a lot and drop a lot of money...coming away with blue balls and an empty wallet. Occasionally i would find a girl willing to come home after closing but it was usually way expensive.

I graduated to escorts in Feb and have never looked back. I know what I'm going to get and it ain't blue balls...and I don't have to buy drinks at exhorbitant prices to get it.

Yes I can relate to that to some extend, however, I continued to go back to strip clubs for years because I develop feelings for many girls and quite frankly I became addicted to nude girls especially when contact dancing started in 2001. Mind you I don't really regret doing that since I met the most beautiful girls (refer to comparative review of strip bars thread to know who they are or were) in strip bars and with some we became friends.

There was a strip bar way on Quebec border (in Rigaud) where was a great place to be (but expensive) where FS was available on demand. There are still a couple that I know of with FS (Frontiere at Riviere Beaudette another one at Grenville and Hilltop at Vaudreuil-Dorion).

I also switched to escorts last fall (one year ago) as I realize the problem however I still go back on occasions (only once or twice a month not twice a week as I used to) to see the remaning dancers that I was friend with. Unfortunately many of my most favourites have stopped dancing though.

Depending on tha availability of money, the best option is to go to a strip bar for an hour or two and get into the mood and once having all the balls blue and the nerves all tense then come home and call for a favourite escort. This option is best but could cost a lot to have a combination of both in one day.

Lol, true, most clubs are not as appealing as they used to be (we should remember also that there where fewer escorts around back then, hum maybe there's a link to the decline there....)
