Strip Clubs slow

Had the chance recently to meet up with some of the areas finest pole dancers only to learn that business is really slow these days, it's likely the same old after christmas slow down, but mixed in with chillier than normal temps and a bus strike to boot!

Guys support your local strip club! These fine entertainers are lovely than ever and dancing for very sparse crowds. I for one I'm going to take part in Barbarella's 2 dollar Ham buffet today, $2.00 come on that's a deal, and roast beef tomorrow. I'm sure this sounds like a shill, but quite frankly gent's I can't support all these ladies all on my own, I'm not made of money!! So if anything help a cowboy out.

well i want the enclosed chapagne rooms back and i can get more with my sp for an hour than a stripper.

on my budget its either one or the other and until busses come back sp's are out too ouch:-(:-x

ED man I hear ya but I'm not a city councuilor so I don't think you'll see the champagne rooms of days gon by coming back anytime soon. :(

While strippers offer a completely different service I'm not expecting any one to start frequent strippers if they prefer sps, hardly. My self I'm more of an sp duden however lately I've been attending berbs in particular and it's a nice change of scenery.

yes i'm afraid the open rooms, non smoking (I'm not a smoker but a lot of guys that were in Barb's used to smoke) and restrictive rules have spoiled business and then there is the bus strike.

there really is better value in sps and that's where a lot of the business has gone i suggest. I think a lot of the girls have gone that route from the strip bars too.

If you get to know a girl a bit, you can usually get private shows outside the club for a better price ($200/hr for instance)...but no guarantee of increased mileage.

Just 5 quick questions, because I have not visit a "peeler joint" as it was called in my hay day...so that is about 15 years ago..

question 1- cover charges still during nights and how much?

question 2- how much for a cold beer/or a mixed drink?

question 3- how much now for a table dance?

question 4- how many ladies do they have on dancing during a week day mid day shift?

question 5- how many ladies on at night dancing?

here's my analysis:

1. cover charges: most still have them on nights, but some quiter ones may not during the week. Pigale is the most expensive charge (5-10$, depending on night). Average is $3.

2.How much: Again, depends on the club. fax and Pigale are most expensive. $6.50/beer(domestic), $7/drink. Most other are $5.50/drink or so, but many have specials during the day, etc. Taboo has cheaper prices till 7pm.

3.Table dance fees: still $20/dance. Pigale and fax have piped in music in the Chapagne rooms where all songs are cut at approx 3 minutes/song so the $$$ adds up quicker. Clubs in Quebec obviously get much more mileage because of the privacy factor.

4.ladies per shift: again this varies per club...better club, more girls, but not neccessarily better mileage. I find Taboo to be an excellent option. 5-10 girls, not many guys, private champagne rooms, so lots of mileage. Pigale can have tons of girls on days, but drink prices are more and Champagne room is pricey due to very short songs.

5.at night, almost all clubs are full of girls, but full varies as per club. at pigale, there could be 30-40 girls, taboo maybe 15, Pink 30-40, Fax 15-20.

Overall impression:

I much prefer the Quebec clubs because of the high mileage and privacy. Pink is not open during the day, and Pigale is quite expensive, so I often go to Taboo..it is the best in my opinion. However, if money was no object, I would definately be going to Pigale...high mileage, hottest girls, most girls...

Depending on the club, the answers to your questions may vary from user to user.

Here is my take on your questions, and I tried to be general as I am very familiar with all Ottawa clubs 9and some from other cities as well).

question 1- cover charge? - $3 to $5 at night. Usually no cover charge before 7PM.

Only exception: $1 at Club61 in Aylmer (but at that place, even at $1, it's expensive).

question 2- cold beer/or a mixed drink? - $5.50 to $7.00 a beer. Mixed drink is $6.00 and up.

question 3- table dance? - I have not seen a table dance in years. Don't know if they still do that. You want a dance, come in the champagne room.

question 4- how many ladies week day mid day shift? - Different from club to club. Pigalle at lunch time is 10-12 ladies.

question 5- how many ladies night dancing? - Different from club to club. Could be as low as 4 ladies or as many as 25.

BareFax/Barbs: 1 lady for 4 guys

Silver Dollar: 1 lady for 2 guys (but the place is small and less busy).

Club61 in Aylmer: 3 guys per lady (she is alone working and these 3 guys are german tourists who got lost).

Feel free to comment or add info as to these questions, I believe there is not a single answer that will do the trick!

I remember when "table" dances meant they brought a stool to your seat, and danced there in full view of the room, no touching, and only $5.00 -backroom dances didn't really exist (not at the places I went when I was 19)

I haven't been to a club in Ottawa in a couple years..... although I read about the lowered walls, and stuff, can somebody give me a better idea what this would entail? Like, are we talking about sitting in a chair, with walls on each side, but being able to see to your right and left with ease?

Last time I was in Ottawa area, I hit up Taboo, and beautiful girl, great mileage, and the room was like a nice big change room sized area...

I was in Toronto for the ACDC concert and Boat show a couple weeks ago and hit up the Brass Rail, and some other club on yonge (near CollegE) I forget the name of... the drinks were $8.75 apiece (the Rogers Centre was only $8.00 apiece! lol) and the champagne room was like a large room with open benches around it. Beautiful spinner type I spent all my money on, with so-so mileage, but you were literally bumping elbows with the guy beside you albeit a flower pot or something in between. Anyway, it was very open, no privacy really... their other room didn't even have pots or stands in between them at all.

At $20 per dance, I'm not surprised the clubs are hurting. I used to go a lot but now it is only the odd time with a group of buddies. Much better value with SP's. I know that some SP's have adjusted their rate to attract business but SC's have not.

Strip bars were my favorites for years and I had the pleasure of meeting so many fine young ladies whom I will never forget and I reviewed them on a separate thread entitled "A comparative Review of Strip Bars in Ottawa-Gatineau"

I started the new hobby (escorts) 18 months ago and to be honest I receive a more satisfying intimate services from service providers than dancers. With $200 - $300 that I spend an hour of intimate relationship with an SP of my choice, I can have an equivalent of 10 - 15 sounds (about 30 - 45 minutes) of not so intimate contact dancing in AN OPEN champaign room which does not qualify as private dancing anymore but still the price for each dance is $20 for 3-4 minutes!!!!. That was the reason I switched to the new hobby and so far I have stayed with this hobby for 18 months.

There is however, a few things that strip bars can do to lured back their customers to their clubs:

1 - Reduce the price for (not so) private dance which lasts only 3-4 minutes from $20 to $10 (back to earlier days, in 2001).

The reason is that dances are not private anymore and many of us (former SC customers) have discovered escorts who are available abundantly and many with web sites and pictures as opposed to a decade ago when the Sun or Citizen was the only source (with no pictures) not to mention the great review boards that we now have such as cerb where facilitates communications with so many fine SPs (the album, PMs, contact info). Not to mention that we are going through a period of slow economic growth and many will cut back on entertainment rather than food and accommodation. We have seen prices for escorts has come down recently (on CL) so why not for dancers?

I sincerely believe that this will be a win-win-win situation as the girls will make more money as they will receive a lot more dance requets, the bar will attract more customers and the customers will leave the SCs satisfied for what they get for their money and will return soon.

2 - Put pressure on the City or hire skilled lawyers to reverse the backward decision that was made regarding the open concept Champaign room. This is Canada, not a bonana republic in ME where govenments impose their moral standards upon their people.

3 - I was exhausted by unsolicited dancers who used to come to my table uninvited and taking a polite NO as insult or giving unfriendly looks. I know a large number of girls in every strip bar and when I go to these bars, I would like to spend my hard earned money on those that I like the most.

4 - Provide friendlier services by dancers and waitresses alike and less checks by bouncers in the champaign rooms (especially in the evenings). It is supposed to be a private dance.

The one advantage with strip bars is that I can spend the dollars on several girls rather than just one (not so intimate though). Also it is great to watch all those beautiful naked angels on stage while drinking and take the ladies of your choice to the champaign room for a more intimate time (provided one is not constantly interrupted by uninvited dancers).

Interesting thread. I haven't been to a strip club in years. But, back when we (the guys) would meet up, we would go to Jason's in Kanata. They had really nice looking girls there and it was a nice new club, clean and you weren't sitting on chairs that you might stick to. On Senators game nights, if you brought your game ticket, you got in free. A lot of girls came from Montreal because game nights were really busy. Good selection of women and fairly good mileage.

My first lap dance was there. I remember I wasn't sure about what the rules were but this adorable black dancer asked me "do you know what the rules are"? And I pleasantly surprised.

Too bad its gone. Maybe it's time to check our Taboo. Never been and it sounds ok.

It would be great to go to a strip club first and get as you said all hornier, hot and blue and then come back home and call for your favorite escort for some intimate encounters. The combined therapy is the best option if you can convince yourself to just have a drink or two and just watch the stage while you are at strip bar (if the girls let you), otherwise it may get too costly that many including myself may not be able to afford very often.

So if I go to a club, I could walk out less 200 bills, had a few expensive pints/drinks ,(where it is cheaper actually to buy a whole case/or bottle), be just a horny when I walked in..and then had to drop more coin to visit an SP.

As I said in the a earlier thread in the old days like the Gypsy Rose, and other clubs, I could get lucky in the bar, enjoy a few cocktails, and leave satisfied.

I guess in today's world, I should get the buffet as CK pointed out for 2 bucks, maybe 1 drink, and watch a show on the stage.;-)

The last time I was in a strip club, I think the dances were $5 or $10. There is still nothing better than seeing a pretty girl playfully undress - but an sp with a stripper body and a playful attitude just seems to me like a much better way to spend money. I'm sure there must be some sp's that give a great lap dance, and with much better privacy.

Sorry....I appreciate that this is slightly off the original post...but some of the descriptions reminded me of an experience I had a few years back at the 'Mate. I was sitting enjoying the entertainment when a young lady approached and asked if she could join me. After receiving my consent, she proceeded to indicate that this was her first night there and that she normally works at the Silver Dollar. Anyway, she continued to attempt to engage me in conversation by suggesting that if I wanted to continue that it would cost me $20. I smiled and told her that I wasn't intersted in going to one of the champagne rooms. "NO"...she corrected me,...the money wasn't for a dance,,,,rather if I wanted to continue talking to her that it would cost me $20.00.

After picking my bottom lip off the floor, I asked if her if this was a normal practice (...knowing full well that it wasn't...guess I was just speculative as to whether I looked like I had just fallen off a certain vegetable truck!!!) She then proceeded to indicate that no...it wasn't a usual practice...but in fact, that she was a "great conversationalist" and could very easily hold her own in any conversation.

Seeing an out...I proceeded to put a bill on the table and asked her what her opinions were of quantum physics.......

She (thankfully) left shortly after and never talked to me for the rest of the evening.

......One of the few occasions I had left a club $20.00 richer with my integrity intact!!!!

My favorite funny interaction was the second time I walked into Barbs which was a couple years ago. Had one lady come over and sat down and started talking ... I was being very polite, she was being very shallow and twirling her hair around. She then said she liked me a lot and wanted me to go for a dance. I looked her right in the eye and smiled and asked, "so what to you like about me?" I kept looking her right in the eye. She was stumped ... completely stumped. She didn't say another word ... she got up and left silently about 30 seconds later.

The funny thing is, had she even said, "I like you because you look like you have money," I would have chuckled and gone for a dance.

As to the original poster's question and some of the other points raised, you can't compare SPs and Strip Clubs. Apples and Oranges. SP interactions, as wonderful as they are, tend to be pretty carefully timed out and mechanical. I like to visit Barbs because I have gotten to know a couple of the ladies there and its great just to sit and talk to them (and of course get a few dances so I'm not wasting their time). Its a friendship of sorts ... just hang out for a while and they come over when they're not busy because they get bored too. As I have said in previous posts, it beats sitting in the hotel room watching reruns on TV.

I read some of the adventures you guys have had and I would like to share a funny one.

Many years ago in Rigaud (which used to be a FS strip club), there was a girl there and her name was Valerie.

Cute blonde but shallow, my god, shallow (I hate to put an instant judgment on people but trust me, you couldn't do otherwise with her).

I was there with a few buddies one night.........a long time ago when table dances were still the thing...... a buddy had to drop outside to make a call.....as he left he paid a girl to come to our table and dance for one of my friends......so she got on her stool started dancing in front of him.
